Is there any minimum unit/credit requirement for transfer student applicants?

after spending 1 semester or 1 quarter at your college, you transfer to WashU. So, you can apply while still doing your first semester at your college. I know people who came to WashU in Spring as Freshman 2nd semester transfers.

My advice would be to call Wash U and tell them that you wish to transfer. Ask for a transfer counselor and follow his or her instructions. Keep in constant contact with the counselor to show your interest and to keep them updated on your transfer application. My son did this (plus he worked hard at his college) and was admitted as a sophomore.

^^ Might be a good advice. But I didnt call them at all, cos I thought the acceptance rate was 50% ish. Only after I sent the application, then I realized it was the most selective school on my list. But I got in and I’m not an URM.

How does the prestige of where you currently go to school and how well you did in high school factor in to your application?

From what I hear from my friend, during transfer the most important thing is your gpa at your selected university, so both your marks and its prestige will play a large role during the transfer process. Your ap/ib/high school marks do not seem to play as large a factor. (someone correct me from this if I’m wrong.)

The school that my son transferred from had no prestige in our state and certainly none in Missouri.
