WHen should one take his or her first SAT II?

I want to take Math IIC this summer, but my parents won’t let me saying it’s “too early.” I think I would be able to get an 800 with the curve as long as I properly study for it. When should someone take his or her first SAT IIC? (btw I’m currently a sophomore and in the highest math track possible at school).

Take it at the end of the corresponding course–be it your junior or sophomore year. I took US History at the end of my sophomore year (after completing AP US History) and did very well, so it’s possible.

If you are taking Pre-Calculus this year, that would be an excellent time to take your Math Level 2 SAT Subject Test.

I took the June MathIIC after finishing Pre-Calc my sophomore year. As long as you prepare enough you should be fine.

I ended up omitting 5 and got a 770. Actually, I thought the test was pretty easy until the last couple questions.

I second Disneyguy, definitely take it after the corresponding course, or the AP version of it.
