When taking college algebra, are you expected to know everything, or do the professors teach you?

If you’re taking college algebra or calculus, are you expected to remember everything you learned in high school, or are the professor(s) going to re-teach you?

@Jrgib98 depends on the professor and course, but usually you are expected to know or be familiar with at least most of the pre-requisite material.

Professors may spend a little time reviewing pre-requisite topics, but more often than not will start with the new topics.

You need to know the lower level math courses that are the prerequisites.
