When to apply for BruinCard?

I just SIR’d this weekend and I was wondering when I need to apply for my BruinCard. Should I apply right now or should I wait until I submit my housing app (I’m guessing this might have something to do with it because they might need to know my meal plan before giving me my card)?

Also, on a seperate topic, what is the point of the “Review Hepatitis B” thing on the list of things freshman need to do? What if we don’t do that online by April 15th? Is it actually important?

You can apply for your bruincard now but you won’t get it until 2 weeks before your orientation date. As far as knowing which meal plan you will be on, information can be updated anytime. YES, it is important that you fill out the form about hepatitus B and return to Ashe Center by April 15 (online).

I would begin the application process ASAP. Admit rates are just getting lower and lower due to the budget crisis, and you’re competing against your fellow Bruins who have just as impressive grades and extracurriculars as you do. You don’t want to leave the essay until the last minute, either–budget time for revisions. Strong recommendations will be helpful as well. If you don’t spend enough time making sure your application is strong, you’ll definitely kick yourself when you realize you have no access to food, a bathroom, or a bed.

Juuuust kidding. Congrats on being a new Bruin, I hope you love it here as much as I do :)
