Hi, the collage I am going to has financial aid that I can sign up for but when do I sign up for it? Do I apply for the collage, then apply to housing, meal plan, other, then once I get my total cost for the year apply for financial aid? Or do I apply for the collage then financial aid then everything else? Thank you for your time!

The financial aid application forms will be available for submission on October 1, 2018 for students entering college fall 2019. I would suggest you do your financial aid applications ASAP after October 1.
You also need to carefully read the DEADLINES in each college website for their financial aid consideration. Do not…do NOT miss the deadlines. In fact…wiser to submit well before.
In the Thumper family, kids applied to the schools and we filled out the financial aid forms ASAP after the school applications were sent.
You don’t apply separately for all of these things. You apply to the college. You will indicate whether you plan to live on campus when you apply…this question is also on the FAFSA and Profile forms.
In terms of the cost of attendance…that is listed on EACH college website…so look for it.
Also, there is a net price calculator on each college website, andyou should do this for EACH college you are interested in…it will give you a net cost, and potential financial aid at that school. Are your parents divorced? Self employed? Own a business? If the answers are no…then the net price calculator will give you a decent estimate…assuming you enter the financial information accurately.
