This isn’t a super high-stakes question; I’m just a little worried about my EA decision at one school. Two of my classmate (whom I probably have similar stats with) got their decisions over a week ago - and, about that time, I got a pair of socks. It came with a note from admissions saying I was a good match, but no acceptance. After looking at threads from the past two years, it looks like most people had received their decisions by now. Should I be worried, and is it worth checking in with my admissions officer just in case? The technical release date is the 15th.
In the mean time, how is waiting for EA decisions going for everyone else?
I’m confused. Admissions sent you a pair of socks??
If it were me I’d probably Google the school and socks and see if someone else has posted somewhere about this. I have a very hard time believing they would send you a trinket if you’d been rejected; I wonder if that’s a consolation/please-stay-interested move for kids who get deferred.
Yeah, I got a pair of school-branded socks and a note! But two friends got acceptances, so I’m not sure what to think. I did do some googling to see if this had happened with anyone else and couldn’t find anything. I’ll probably email admissions in the morning and ask for a general update - I just wanted to make sure that wouldn’t come across as presumptuous or desperate.
They certainly didn’t send socks as a consolation prize, like, “hey, thanks for playing, here’s some socks.” Not accepting you would be cruel! Did the other people that got in get socks? Never ever heard of this before, but I think Iike it, that is if you get in! Seems you will like @proudpatriot said!
