I remember a thread in which it was recommended that the second semester tuition not be paid till Jan. 1 or later. But now I can’t remember the reason. I will be paying it primarily from my 529. My first-year D’s tuition is due by Jan. 2, which makes that tricky. Does it really matter when I pay?
Just make sure you take the 529 money out of the account the same year the tuition is made. If you pay in late December, make sure the 529 money is withdrawn THIS year, and not in early January.
