Hello,
I am currently in the process of applying and am currently torn about whether to submit subject tests to various schools. I am applying to mostly selective schools (e.g JHU) that “consider” subject tests but do not require them. I am applying as a double major in math and something poli-sci ish (varies on the school, some legal studies, some american studies, some poli-sci). I have tried MANY subject tests but my highest are a 710 on US History and a 760 on chemistry. I also took Math II twice but got a 690 so I wouldn’t even dream of sending that. Amid these mediocre subject test scores, I got a 1480 on my normal SAT (760 math, 720 english) and have 8 APs sent that are half 4s and half 5s. Additionally, I believe that the significant hook of my applications is my EC section. Should I send my two subject test scores?
Yes, I’d send those two. I’d estimate they’re on par with typical applicants to JH-level schools. Not sending when recommended, without a financial reason, might lead them to believe you are withholding low scores.
