In general, is it better to submit scholarship apps weeks ahead of the deadline instead of a couple days? Or does it not effect one’s chances too much? I think I may be making the mistake of submitting applications too close to the deadline, but I like to check over my app a lot before I submit it. Does this lower my competitiveness? Am I viewing deadlines in the wrong way?
Just make sure you don’t run the risk of missing the deadlines. There can be computer or server snafus that happen. Submit early.
As far as it affecting your chances…most scholarships with deadlines review all of the applicants but then make decisions after the deadlines.
Look what happened this week in the Midwest - everything delayed and there is no guarantee that colleges are going to accept late documents. Don’t wait until the last minute. Review your documents and send them in.
