When WAS the deadline for financial aid?

Does anyone remember when the absolute deadline to apply for financial aid was? This is extremely important. I know it says Feb. 15 here: [MIT - Student Financial Services](<a href=“MIT Student Financial Services”>MIT Student Financial Services)
but I remember it saying April 22 on the banner…

If there’s a link you could provide, that would be great.

If you don’t mind me asking - why?

There is no absolute deadline – if you apply before the start of the school year, Student Financial Services will do everything in their power to get you an aid package.

One year, my dad sent in the forms in July…

^Mollie, I’m not sure everyone is so flexible these days. We applied for FinAid this year because a younger brother will also be in college. My daughter (MIT junior) was informed that our current tax forms were missing on April 15, the deadline, and thus we were ineligible for consideration. I had to call her FinAid counselor and explain that we had sent the copies directly to MIT (some universities require this), and so he gave us a “one week extension” so that we could send the same documents to CSS, where MIT would access them online. We still haven’t heard anything, so I probably should contact the FinAid Office. But from my perspective/experience, I wouldn’t tell anyone that it’s okay to be late.

^That’s really unfortunate. I hope that they can return to a more flexible system, for everyone’s sake.
