So I am beginning to narrow down my choices, anyway I have noticed that Lehigh has a great IBE program, but the online descriptions of it leave much to be desired. So I figured I should visit Lehigh to find out more about this program, but there however there is an issue, there is only one more scheduled IBE information session (from what I can tell) for the IBE program. There are also a few more days to visit the campus and get information/tours about the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering, which one should I visit? Will visiting IBE give info for things like Electrical Engineering?
I believe that this question would be best suited for the admissions, office, so I will also promptly ask them, but
hey why not post it here first?
When I visited Lehigh for a general tour, we were provided with an IBE information session as soon as we got there. I do not know if this was the same type of session you are describing, but the one I experienced was about ~1 hour long, and was clear enough to know all about the IBE program (even though I had not signed up for an IBE specific session). It is clear to me that Lehigh is proud of its IBE program, and has many successful grads. Thus, even if you visit Lehigh for a general engineering tour, you will undoubtedly hear a lot about the IBE program. And if you were interested in hearing more about specifics, I’m sure you could find current students/professors on campus willing to talk to you.
It would be my assumption that the IBE specific tour would not go over any specific department in engineering (e.g. Electrical Engineering), so I would strongly recommend that you do the general engineering tour instead. The general engineering tour covers all departments in the College of Engineering, and will include a walk-through where you will see classrooms, hear from professors, learn about the various disciplines etc. It appears that you definitely want to do something with engineering, so I think your best bet would be to take the engineering tour, and then seek out information on the IBE program. Again, there is no doubt that any of your questions can be answered by someone on campus if you go not get them while on the tour.
While I am not an IBE major, I know enough about the program to answer some general questions you might have.
Additionally, one of my majors is Electrical Engineering, so I can answer any question you might have about that department.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions or concerns!
