When will decisions be released?

Good ol’ Chicago: The place where fun goes to die…so far living up to their word (don’t stone me for saying it, you know it’s true.)

ok guys, it’s gotta be the 15th. Last year, it was the 13th…but that was a Friday! Tomorrow and Sunday are a sucker’s bet.

Sooo, it’s only the next four years of my life. pffft. big deal.

AHHH.

guys, the answer is 42.
duh

why must uchicago torment us?

They do it for the lols.

haha, rofls.

15th… Who’s staying up? :)

actually they’re probably doing it for the lulz.

just sayin’

Unalove, I would gladly go out and have a life if I knew the time when I needed to be home sitting by my computer. I’m quite serious. I can deal fine with waiting if I know when the waiting will be over.

verdenal - Yeah, Chicago seems like it may have an affinity for the lulz.

and I really hope this turns out alright - Georgetown deferred me :/

^ I’m still waiting for Gtown along with Chicago…

i guess we have three people that did EA chicago and gtown then.

i am feeling significantly more patient than I was on say Thursday night. However, I am a bit frusterated that Chicago stuff isn’t out and my other EA school Notre Dame, mailed letters and sent emails to international kids on Thursday meaning applicants from the midwest and international already know but as an East Coaster, I have to wait until Monday.

Monday has the potential to be a horrific day. booo.
that is all. end rant.

signitblank- They do. Perversely, this makes me hope I get in even more.

All of us here harbor a lulz fetish, however taboo it may be.

and I just want to get this all over with. I just want to get into college - somewhere!

Somebody asked me earlier in the thread if I knew about rejections/deferrals/acceptances. I have no clue. All I know is that some deferrals do turn into acceptances come the regular round.

Some suggestions to alleviate the waiting pain:

Get out of the house/apartment. Don’t look at your computer for a few hours. You don’t need to know your decision EXACTLY when it comes out.

I have no idea when they are coming and wouldn’t even attempt to venture a guess. Some time before December 25 is all I would be sure of. Unless the admissions office really likes torture and that sort of thing. And epic lulz.

Don’t check your e-mail in school. (All you iPhone/CrackBerry kids). Believe me, ever since the invention of decisions-by-email, the context of the admissions decision will be made worse. I remember when three childhood friends all applied to the same school and all decided to check their admissions decisions on the school computers. One was accepted, one deferred, one denied. But the fact that they had to experience it together, in a public place, etc. was kind of awful, and I had to watch it. Another of my friends got an early-write from a competitive school when she checked her e-mail between classes, and in ecstatic energy ended up proudly announcing this early-write to a classroom filled with people who applied to that college and did not get early-writes. Probably not the best decision on her part.

I would also advise to steer clear of the internet for a while after your decision, whatever that decision may be. I would be pleased as punch not to see a “Class of 2013 results thread” this year. There is no reason for you to share your personal information that way, not even for the sake of “scientific” data-mining. (The most complete breakdown that you’ll get of the admitted student body is available here: [University of Chicago College Admissions | Incoming Class Profile](http://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/admissions/classprofile.shtml)). I do not share my data, partially because of privacy reasons and partially because I find it extremely improper and unhelpful to you and to me.

make that four… and i’m still waiting for both!!

Good luck, circ.

Five. I haven’t heard from Georgetown either.

Well make it six, i was deferred as well

“Unless the admissions office really likes torture and that sort of thing. And epic lulz.”

that made me laugh, unalove. :)
