<p>Do you believe peak oil will occur in the relatively near future? Are environmentalists blowing the whole thing out of proportion? Are we doing enough to prepare for this imminent peak?</p>
<p>Probably in the next 20 years, conservatively. I know people that think Climate Change is a load of BS that are very concerned about peak oil, so it’s not just environmentalists.</p>
<p>So should college kids not rely on the petroleum industry for employment as heavily as their parents did? Will the job market for petroleum engineering, petroleum geology, etc. majors be hurt by peak oil or will people in those professions benefit because the companies will need their expertise to come up with better ways of extracting the remaining oil?</p>
