<p>I read the NYTs and one person commented, if you are going to write a dummy letter to hold a spot it should be a sorry you didn’t get in one. That way if there is a mistake like what they had happen at Vassar, then the school can gladly tell the ones who really did get good news instead of bad news.</p>
