Currently, I go to UMBC (going to transfer to Towson) and have realized that they getting loans extremely difficult. When I first applied for loans, they told me that I needed both my parents IRS info and mine. I gave them all of that and didn’t hear from them for a month. Not a single E-Mail or phone call. So, today I reached out to them and asked about the status of my application. I was told that they never received my parent’s IRS information, although I faxed them both together on the same date, called them and they verified they received my information via e-mail confirmation. It’s now midsemester. Has this happened to anyone else? I know they are typically busy, but I’m furious that my financial counselor couldn’t even write me stating it was misplaced or unreceived.
I assume “them” is your school’s financial aid office. I also assume you filled out the FAFSA, as your loan actually doesn’t come from your college. If you have an email confirmation, can you forward it to the FA office?
I have filled out my FAFSA. Even though my counselor did not ask for it, I did forward the confirmation along with my parent’s tax information.
