<p>That can be a very rewarding experience (especially after you share your research interests with the prof).</p>
<p>It’s happened to me before. But I was narrow-minded when I first got research and didn’t really know what i REALLY wanted to do. So I want to ask this question again.</p>
<p>Ideally my search algorithm would hit the right target on the first trial, but search algorithms rarely hit the first target in the first trial. Rather they are best guided and modified (as algorithms within human minds are apt to do)</p>
