When you..

When you Run out of new sat practice tests, can you take old practice tests and still benefit from them?

I would honestly not waste time on the old materials. I heard Kallis and Ivy Global have realistic practice tests. I would try those first.

You may have learned the correct answers to lots of questions. But an actual test item may be phrased in reverse. Who sailed to the Caribbean in 1492 versus What year did Columbus arrive in America. 1492 was an important year in Spain. What else happened?

If your study guide, tells you why the correct answer is correct, verify if that is why you picked that answer. Study/learn the information in the incorrect answers and why they are incorrect for the practice item but what question they might answer in the broader topic.

In these ways, you will learn more about the various topics. The chances that an individual study item appears in the version you took is beyond remote. I took standardized tests for years and only saw one item that was in a study guide. On the other hand, placing the study guide question in a much larger context allowed me to learn variations of the test content that could be very useful.

Definitely. The recycled tests are still very useful for you to drill and improve your speed in recognizing types of questions. The answers you get get wrong on them are a useful diagnostic tool to identify concepts or types of questions you have trouble with and that require your extra prep focus.
