<p>My criteria for the best are very specific. Let me illustrate with an example of an exact opposite </p>
<p>When I took a junior biology course (for bio majors), at a local university, the labs generally covered different materials from those at the lecture. Not surprisingly, I often felt I was poorly prepared for labs, even after reading the lab book. The course text was not very helpful in this respect (in no small part because it was confusing). Either way, after a few labs we had our first lab test. It covered all the material that we were supposed to have learned during the few labs that we had so far. Again not surprisingly, the sections of the lab book, for the labs that we have covered so far, contained many unfamiliar terms and concepts, the explanations for which were nowhere to be found. When some of the students asked the labs TA about where to find explanations for these terms and concepts, her best advice for us was to Google them.</p>
<p>The lectures were better structured; though I often couldnt understand what the prof was talking about. His lecture notes were fairly organized, but rather dense, with few explanations. The textbook was not very helpful for obtaining such explanations, as it looked like it was written for someone who already knew everything in it (i.e. unclear/confusing).</p>
<p>So it should be clear by now that I am looking for a Canadian university where the undergrad biology courses are highly integrated, highly structured, and are clear for understanding and studying. Thanks in advance for answers.</p>
