Currently a high school sophomore, I want to build up on my resume. Anyone know where I can volunteer and possibly assume a position? I don’t want anything generic like volunteer at library( I’m working on that)
It is best to match your volunteer work to your college major, if possible. If you can tell us what type of major or career you are thinking about, maybe we can come up with some suggestions. In general, colleges like jobs that involve academics, skills, responsibility, leadership, and caring for others.
Do what you like… and help people do what you like. Seriously, it is that simple. If you are into robotics and/or computers, maybe you can help coach a FIRST team, if you like the outdoors, BoyScouts provide a great framework. If you are into music, teach a some neighborhood kids how to play. Once you are engaged in stuff like this, opportunity will knock.
