Where can I donate some gently used toys?

Does anyone know an organization that would be happy to receive a donation of some PlayMobil and stuffed animals?

These are hardly used, and I’d like to pass them along to a place where they would get good use – maybe even an orphanage overseas?

try some free clinics or family clinics in your area, they have waiting areas for children

We gave some to afterschool programs in our district, and to Goodwill, around Christmas time.

fendrock, Perhaps if you give a specific geographic location someone can come up with a place near you. In the past we’ve donated toys to Goodwill and the Salvation army.

Headstart programs would love to have them.

How about a kindergarten class in an area where the teachers might not have much. We have done this with our old but loved picture books and first readers.
Also you might find a women’s shelter that would love it. Or a transistional home for homeless families.

you can also send them to children in Iraq, some of whom have absolutely nothing. pm me if you want info.

Try a local women’s emergency shelter – some take women and children who have left their homes due to domestic violence and are thankful to have escaped with the clothes on their backs, but they have nothing else.

Your local hospital pediatrics dept. Headstart. Extended day afterschool programs. Emergency shelters.

Pre-schools, hospitals, shelters-
Been donating our children’s toys for years to same. It is appreciated.

Purple Heart organization, if there is one in your area.

My kids made a large donation of stuffed animals to a hospital for children on the conditon that they were “new” - that wouldn’t except them unless they were never used.

Our girl scout troops collect toys, videos, books, travel size toiletries, etc for our local children’s hopital house where families of sick kids stay while their child is getting treatments. The items are very appreciated since these families are away from their homes for extended periods and often have their other kids staying with them.
