Where can I find more information?

Are there any good sites where I can learn more about being a pre-med and what comes after it, how to prepare, etc? Any people I can ask such as an advisor?

I want to do Electrical Engineering, but I dont know whether I should get a job as an EE or become a doctor.

I’m currently a freshman pre-med student (majoring in biochem but I still follow the premed path). I don’t know what comes after it, but if you are a high school student or freshmen you are welcome to follow me on twitter @pikatchung or my noobie website that i currently update every week or two

I’ll show you how I got a research job (on my first year here), how I earned my 3.85 GPA (not too shabby) on my first semester here despite all the on-going pressure to drink, party, and sleep. Haha.

Haha thanks so much!
I think I’ll stick with the blog though  The twitter doesn’t seem to have that much info, and I dont’ have a twitter anyway

-There is nobody / no site that will answer this personal question. You have to develop a plan based on YOUR goals/preferences, “YOUR” is a key, what others think about it might not fit. Keep in mind that all advisors are first and foremost are employees of certain organizations. Not to diminish their desire to help you, the employment and family needs will come first in mind of anybody who is employed. Take advice from yourself first before you listen to anybody else. This is the only way to insure your own success.
And be extremely careful and judgemental while reading SDN (Student Doctor Network), protect your psych, be very selective what you choose there, do not take it personally and better never post there.

SDN: making CC look like a bunch of slackers discussing puppies and rainbows.

^yes, exactly, discussing puppies and rainbows is so much better than having a heart attack over one point on MCAT. The rule during last year cycle was to stay away form SDN. However, if some want to get jumpy and need addtional excitement in their Med. School application process, SDN will definitely serve this purpose…you can dig few fact here and there, but you better send your relatives to do so, much older and stornger people than yourself.

wait whats wrong with SDN? isn’t it just a forum

Forum for people who do not like to stay cool. Too much excitement there, mostly negative…Just check it, google it and read as much as your psych allow…

SDN is full of hysteria, hyper-competitiveness and massive one-upsmanship. But you can glean some good info from it if you’re willing to take most things with a huge grain of salt.

I haven’t read through this recently, but it is a good guideline:
