Hey folks!
My sat scores : 2100,
CR = 650, Math = 800
and my GPA = 4.0
So, can I get a full ride with this score and GPA ?

Kahtas…important detail for folks to have. You are an international student.

No place is going to give an int’l a “full ride” since that would need to include: tuition, room, board, fees, books, personal expenses, health insurance and int’l travel costs.

FYI…health insurance, int’l travel, and personal expenses will run about $7k per year.

If you were to apply super quickly to Alabama (deadline for merit is Dec 15), you’d get free tuition, but you’d have to pay the rest of the costs.

How much can your family pay?

You have to have all costs covered to get your visa.

Lsu has a full ride scholarship amd says that they also offer traditional scholarship to international students as wel, but you will habe to ask the admission

@paul2752 Can you post a link to that LSU full ride scholarship? I can’t find it. edited…found it.

Also…It likely doesn’t cover health insurance and in’tl travel costs…and may not cover personal expenses.

Plus it requires a panel interview…how would they handle that for an abroad student?

@kahtras did you study in the US? or in your country?

@mom2collegekids we don’t know if the OP is already in the US or not. If s/he is it will be better.

Oh and about LSU full ride scholarship, their requirement went up…it’s 1440, not 1330 anymore. Deadline was 11/15, too. I found it through some old thread that had outdated deadline and requirements. Sorry:-(

@kahtras did you already apply to schools?

^^
I think he’s living in Nepal.

Ouch, that’s REALLY low.

I don’t think there is any school that will give him money for travel expense and health insurances. Many merit scholarships are for dorm, fee, tuition, book voucher with some extra fancy stuff like laptops, and his another thread implies that he isn’t a good candidate for the Ivy league and need based aid…
@kahtras I think you might want to take a gap year(if you can). Not only many schools you might consider for scholarships are past the due dates, the fact that you can only pay 2~2.5k per year is very, very critical. That’s not even enough for travel expense and insurance. You might be able to save some money by working or tutoring.

Why the US? Why not look at Europe or Canada? The US is expensive and our system is not set up to give everyone a lot of aid.

You might also look at some of schools in less populated states - Montana, Wyoming, North/South Dakota. Some have exchanges with different countries, some have programs that need students, some would like the diversity. Find a hole and fill it.

Well, he can see if he can follow other students from Nepal to Howard University, Louisiana Tech, University of Texas - Arlington, University of North Texas, and Saint Cloud State University, based on the linked article above.
