Where can I get a private college loan, no co-signer required?

Please recommend sources

Assuming you have no credit history, nowhere.

Well, I’ve only had a credit card for year now…

The problem is I’m not with my parents right now, so I wouldn’t be able to get a written signature. Can it all be done online? If so, then co-signing is possible.

You can’t mail/fax the contract to your parents?

Also, I should amend my previous post: Without credit history *AND *a stable income of above ~$20,000 a year, essentially nowhere. The student loan market is drying up with the economic times, lenders are now becoming more cautious and lending less.

Are YOU trying to get the loan (as a student) or are your parents trying to get a loan to use to help you with college expenses? To be honest, it would be easier if your parents were getting the loan.

How long are you going to be separated from your parents? By what date do you need to secure the loan?

To be honest, most loans need to be signed by the parties. We did a loan one time from a far and the person far away had to have the documents signed and witnessed by a notary…and MAILED (not faxed) to the lender. In fact…everything was sent in the mail.

Perhaps you should discuss this with the lender to find out if electronic signatures are possible. My guess is they are not…simply put, how would the bank be able to verify that the person signing is who they say they are.
