Where can I go with an M.E. degree?

Hello everyone,

I am currently a mechanical engineering undergrad and I was hoping you can explain to me what my options are after I get my bachelors.

I have talked to several current grads. who have a M.E. bachelors and based on the various people I have talked to some of my options are:
-Bio-engineering
-Bio-medical
-nano-tech
-Mechanical
-etc

I am hoping you can shed some light on the possible master degree choices a M.E. should attempt to get.

Thank you for reading and all of your help.

:)

There’s no degree or career path that a mechanical engineer “should” get. It all comes down to your career goals. Also, since you seem like you really haven’t a clue what you would study, you shouldn’t even be entertaining the idea of graduate school at this point.

Ideally a grad school specialty may call to you, based on courses and undergrad research.

Since you are unsure, the best thing to do is to work for a few years and then you will have a much better idea of what, if any, graduate degree to pursue.

You can do ANYTHING! Literally you can get in to anything you want.

No rush to get a masters degree too, especially if you have no idea what you want to do. Work for awhile, figure out what you want to do, and then get your company to pay for it.
