Where Could I Get In?

Any ideas about where I could get in with these stats?
HS GPA: 3.1 (ouch).
SAT: 620 M, 630 R, 640 W.
ECs: Did crew for four years, some volunteer work at soup kitchen, wrote for newspaper.

State of Residence: NJ.
College Attending: PA LAC, gets “A-” academic ranking on Niche, I guess that’s the best way to describe it.
CGPA: 3.625, ~3.65 when factoring in summer class taken.
Major GPA: 4.0
Major: Psychology, may put History and Judaic Studies/Religion as second and third choices.
ECs: Member of EMS unit, did psych research first year with professor, continuing to do some volunteer work, getting certified as EMT this summer.
Do you guys think I could get into any T40 Research U’s or any T25 LAC’s? Thanks guys!

I am in similar situation. I had a ~3.6, a 630 M, 640 R, 660 W, and I went to an LAC in PA as well. I ended up transferring to Case Western (which I assume you would like based on your username) and will attend in the fall. The bad news is this: Ivies and UC’s may be out of reach, as may some other T20 schools. However, CWRU is a definite possibility, and they waive test requirements after 45 credits, which may help you even more. I would say you may even have a chance at Vanderbilt, Emory, Wake Forest, Brandeis, and other schools that are in the top 40. Vandy may be a reach, but I wouldn’t call it impossible. As long as you can stay around ~3.5, you have many options. As far as LACs go, Colgate, Grinnell, and Wesleyan may be possibilities. You may have an even better shot at Oberlin, URichmond, Bucknell, Holy Cross and schools of the like. Obviously, this is all speculation, and this is based solely on past information that I personally have gathered. PM me for more information if you want it.

@SeinfeldFan1 wow, thanks a lot! This information definitely helps!

Vanderbilt IS in the top 20…

@SejongTheGreat I’m saying a lot of top 20 may be out of reach, but that Vanderbilt may be the most likely out of schools in the top 20. I am fully aware that Vanderbilt University is tied 15 in National Universities Rankings, along with Cornell and WUSTL. The keyword was SOME top 20 schools, and that is based, as I said, only on my experiences.
