I love that the writers E.L. Doctorow and Laura Hillenbrand went to Kenyon College. Her story of writing the amazing book Seabiscuit while struggling with chronic illness is so inspiring and reminds me that I can write a book one day too.

Unbroken was amazing. I’ve been meaning to read Seabiscuit, but I hadn’t heard her story behind writing it. Thanks for mentioning it!

Chloe Zhao, writer, director, and editor of Nomadland, went to Mt Holyoke for undergrad.

I thought that movie was amazing.

The film Nomadland was based on a book written by Amherst College alumn Jessica Bruder '00, a journalist who immersed herself in the lives of older Americans forced to live on the road to survive the new economy.

Hooray for Amherst, hooray for women and hooray for the Five College Consortium! :purple_heart:
