I noticed that there are 13,000 views of this thread. I know many are repeats (I am one). However, does anyone have any fresh stories of which colleges kids get into with this range of GPA? D is applying this fall and I would love to know, specially on the East Coast.

bplusmom, take a look at the Bplus students thread started by MSU. Also, if you child is a Weighted B+ student, rather than having an unweighted B+ and weighted GPA above 3.75, the very long 3.0-3.3 parents threads started by Ready to Roll and the Whre did your 3.0-3.3 child get in thread have dozens of good Eastern recommendations and avid posters. It would help if you include your Dâs preference for size, urban/rural and major or you will be overwhelmed with suggestions from Drexel to Goucher to SUNYs

S had a 3.3 to 3.4 , 28 ACT and 1850 SATâs. Accepted to Providence, Fordham, Loyola Maryland, Stonehill and Fairfield. Waitlisted at VillanovaâŠ

I canât get over all these high test scores! Sheesh, itâs amazing! Is this just the tiny sliver of CC land?

My girls are the opposite: good students at a college-prep private, good grades, highly valued in class, teachers love them, they love school⊠and they donât do well on SATs. D1 is happy in college, it all worked out except for she didnât get the merit aid we hoped for (b/c her test scores were too low)-- despite low SAT/ACT, she is Deanâs List, one of the top students in her major, loves her classes, etc etc.

D2 will be casting a wider net. Currently a junior with about a 3.8uw, 4.28w, but poor PSAT scores. Sheâll be more motivated than her sis to take lots of practice tests to try to get scores up, but I canât imagine sheâll ever get a 2200, or even break 2000. Would a girl like that have a decent shot at schools like Vassar or Wesleyan or Bard? And a chance of merit aid at Emerson or Muhlenberg?

I donât know about merit aid. A handful of students from our school have gotten into Vassar with less than 2000, but most are rejected. With Wesleyan itâs even more unlikely. Bard is absolutely feasible - it would be a good match. Bard, by the way, doesnât require SAT scores. You might want to look at the list of colleges that donât require SAT scores, there are lots of very good colleges on the list: [Optional List | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest)
