I’ve been thinking over this for a while and currently, I’m applying for jobs in the industry and for Computer Engineering PhD programs in Grad School.

Info and Stat.
1.International F-1 student
2.currently a senior (Undergrad Math major, comp. sci and physics minors)
By 1. and 2. I can’t
3. GRE 1310 (V:520, Q:790, A:4.5) in first attempt.
4. GPA: 3.5
5. Tons of activities (including 2 yrs of RA, Who’s Who among students in America, Asst. Manager in a shop, Intern at Stanford IT service, College IT service desk Tech., Math tutor, Varsity tennis player)
6. BUT NO PUBLICATIONS AT ALL (ironically except for a great opportunity in Chemistry for a research program that was later present in NCUR and published, too)…I’m wondering if this’d hurt me in Grad School application.
7. I can get fairly good recommendation from the Dean who knows me closely and very well, from a professor who I worked with closely for an Independent study course and from the Dpt. head of Math

Two questions:
a. How do I present myself thru the statement of Purpose and although I’d love to:CMU, U. Maryland. Where else can I practically apply?

b. Any Chances for jobs in Industries? especially, since I have limited but continuing Computer science background but have strong math and is passionate to continue and professors know my potential?? Will the industry allow that room to learn in their place? Anyone with personal experience?

Thanks,
-me!
