Where do I put the link to a personal website on the Yale app?

Do I put it in “additional information” on the Yale supplement? Do I put it in the “additional information” section on the Commapp? What if I want to attach a resume as well?

Thank you in advance

Conventional wisdom is that URLs are ignored.

Oh. That’s a bummer :(. My website has won awards for service though since it’s very service based. What do I do to highlight that I want them to read over it if I don’t really want to talk about it in my essay?

Oh. That’s a bummer . My website has won a national award for service though since it’s very service/awareness based. What do I do to highlight that I want them to read over it if I don’t really want to talk about it in my essay?

They very likely will not look at the website. They are processing thousands upon thousands of applications and have a finite amount of time to do it. If you won a national award, that will obviously be noted in your app as an award/honor. The national award will clue them in about how great your site is. A teacher or counselor rec could spend a couple of sentences on it, if appropriate. Other than that, you’ll have to use an essay/short answer space if you want to explain more about it.

I agree with the above posters. They won’t look at it.

However, if you still want to put it on the app, you should put in on the additional info section. (many CCers think that the section should always be filled with an attached resume. Too typical and not true. )

^But you CAN fill it with an attached resume, right?

i think u can…i heard they even look at facebook o.o. if that’s true why wouldn’t they look at ur award winning website?

^

I’m pretty sure they don’t look at the the Facebook pages of ~30K applicants…and there’s also the chance of the applicant not even having one or setting theirs to private/unsearchable.

Oh of course you can fill it with a resume. In fact, that seems to be what all the overachieving applicants are doing nowadays. I heard some schools explicitly say they don’t like to see such list on the app. I’d rather use it for something creative, to stand out among others

Someone posted that a brown admin officer said that they do NOT want a resume.
