<p>Hi, I’m a senior in high school and I’m about to apply for college. Academically, I’ve challenged myself over the past three years, but I didn’t achieve as well as I would have liked. However, it is evident that I am a hardworking student: I have a lot of extracurriculars, I was recognized by the governor for an intensive program over the summer, and I have taken multiple AP’s and honors classes.</p>
<p>I’m definitely applying to Georgia State University because I know that my numbers meet up with their standards, but I also believe that my extracurriculars will be advantageous in holistic admissions.</p>
<p>My unweighted GPA is a 3.2
My SAT is a 1720, and I’m taking a very intense prep class to improve it (I’m hoping for a 1900)
Senior year: President of the International Thespian Society at my school
Junior year: Historian of the International Thespian Society at my school
Junior year: Photographer for the Spanish Club
Over the summer I attended the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program at VSU majoring in Spanish + minoring in Social Studies</p>
<p>I’d like to apply to a few colleges in Boston or New York because I have family up north, and I love the atmosphere of those cities. Are there any suggestions for where I should apply? I want to apply to Boston University but I don’t have a very high GPA. Is there anything I could do to set myself apart from other applications? Thank you so much!</p>
