I am currently a freshmen in biomedical engineering at the Univeristy of Wisconsin-Madison. Despite believing this was the school for me, I hate everything about it. Being from New Jersey it is way too far from home, and I don’t like that it is city more than a college campus. The engineering program 3.5 core gpa requirement is causing me way too much stress. Even if I get a B in chemistry and an A in I stilcalculus l wouldn’t make progression requirements which seems kind of crazy to me when the exams are designed to have averages in the high 50’s and low 60’s. I don’t like the size of the classes and how no one cares if you’re doing well or not. I decided that gamedays (wasting a whole saturday) is not fun and frat parties with 400 people you don’t know are not for me. I do like to have fun and go out but in a smaller setting. Therefore the academic and social aspects of this school are not working for me. I decided pretty early on that I wanted to tranfer for the spring. Since deadlines were close, I applied to Stevens Inst of Tech, Stony Brook, and The Unversity of Rhode Island? So I was wondering which one would be the best fit, with still having a solid engineering program?
