I have jeans and fleeced sweatpants. But I would like to find some cute, attractive and very comfy outfits to just wear at home in the winter. I don’t want to wear something like Athleta, although that is adorable, I don’t want to be constricted. I’ve looked at Chicos Zenergy collection online and that seems to be not my style. Maybe like a mix of the two.
I guess I want the bottoms to be no zipper, not clingy. A matching type of top with great pattern. Something you can well…lounge around on the sofa in, but still look fashionable? You would think after all these years I would have something…but no.
I buy the kids, who live up north, flannel pants and matching tops at the Gap. LL Bean also has nice outfits. Lord & Taylors has Carole hooch an and many brands. SOMA has lovely stuff for all ages, but a little more expensive.
We spend a lot of time in night wear, so find what you really like.
I was recently looking for some comfy pants for exercising and just lounging around in and bought these as they were having a 30% off everything sale. I hadn’t purchased pants from Lands End before but was very impressed by how soft, comfortable and well made they are. They have frequent sales (40% off one item today for example). I also got some t-shirts and was also pleased with the quality as the other brand I used to buy has gone downhill with the cotton being very thin. http://www.landsend.com/products/womens-active-pants/id_212716?sku_0=::BLA
After years of working in a chemistry lab, I would not wear street clothes in the house and vice versa. I mostly run around the house in a plush robe from Costco. When I need more formal home attire, I have a few Juicy pants and tops that don’t have any signage on them. Just plain blue. I have no idea if anyone remembers the Juicy craze and if the brand is still in business, but their pants/tops do last.
I have the JJill cosy knit pants and on sale they are a good deal. Super comfy, smooth interior and decent enough to wear for a walk or errand, though I like them fohanging out after dinner in the cooler seasons. I tried one pair after reading the great reviews and went back for more.
The challenge will be how their comfort makes me want to grab them in the morning, even though I am ordinarily a more tailored than knit pants person. They would be great on a long overnight plane ride; easy to sleep in, yet they pass as pants.
doschicos - I also live in the Land’s End pants you linked. They make your rear end look good and are not as tight in the inner thigh area as Athleta or Lucy. Plus they wash up like a dream. I am 5’9 and wear the talls. They legs are wider, but I am happy. But ONLY those, not the other “active” pants Lands End offers.
The J Jills are also a good option, but if ordering online get 2 sizes as each style fits differently.
Lucy has one pant that is more for casual wear and not as tight around rear end and inner thigh. It is called the Vital pant and I have friends who swear by them!
@dmd77 …FYI, I bought the JJill ones on sale. I’m glad we have one in town because I would have bought the medium, but I swam in them. They are sized really big. The small fir perfect, but I can gain a pound! I thought they seemed short, but I came back and looked at the link you put up, and they hit me just like model…so all is good. Very comfortable and flattering…I bought the black, the only small they have!
The consignment store around the corner started selling Soma at 25% of the cost. They still have tags on several things, not sure how they obtained them.
For you Costco fans, I just bought a pair of (don’t cringe) Gloria Vanderbilt knit pants at Costco for $12 after the in store discount. They are lighter than sweats but more “daytime” than my Soma pjs. The only problem is no pockets for your phone.
