Unless there’s a really compelling reason NOT to take the job, it sounds like a great way to ease back into a more permanent position. As was already said, you can bone up on bankruptcy law & be ready to take your career to the next level when it seems appropriate as well. It does sound like the firm is interested in you, which is all good.

I do love the shoes I’ve purchased from Walking Company & Clarks. They’re comfortable & fashionable. One warning: some of them do need a heel guard added so they shoe doesn’t wear out within just a few wearings. I had to have one added after noticing that the shoe was not doing well after being worn less than a dozen times! I was able to get a pair of Clarks shoes at a Comfort Shoes store in Alexandria for $40 (retail price was $120)! I LOVE the shoes & the woman traveling with me also bought a pair–we both LOVE them!

I also love twin sets, as long as the fabric is a nice one (some have a texture I don’t like). They come in a wide range of fabrics, textures and prices. Talbots does have some nice things, but I have rarely purchased anything there, tho my friend does because she loves their petite section.
