Where do you keep your passwords?

Handwritten, on a couple of pieces of paper, taped to my home office wall.

My parents have a handsome Rolodex they bought at an estate sale for $1. That’s where they keep their “everyday” passwords. Their “big deal” passwords are kept in a safe in the attic. In the basement, my parents display their huge National and State Park magnet collection. The code to their safe is written on the back of the Death Valley magnet. I learned all of this from my son when he was about 4. Apparently, my father has prepped all of the grandkids.

I too keep mine on a password-protected spreadsheet on my computer. The file is called “Home Improvements.”

I’ve made my husband, sister and older son aware of this.

So I looked at the Password App on my iPhone. I think the only difference between that and my locked notes folder is that if I lose my phone, my passwords can be accessed in the cloud?

My notes can be accessed from my iPad, too. I guess I’m trying to figure out what I gain.

Yes you can access your passwords on any Apple device you own, plus via the web (but you’ll need two factor authentication enabled)

Google doc that only my wife and me are on. But mostly in my head as stated above. I also use 2 factor for almost anything.

So people know if you use Google is super simple to get to your passwords if you forget one here and there
