I haven’t taken AP Bio yet, but I’ve heard (and confirmed through the CB) that chemistry is almost a universal prerequisite to AP Bio. I’ve also heard that AP Bio does not require to much math. So where does the Chemistry come in?

When you talk about polarity of water, macromolecules (such as carbs, proteins, nucleic acids), and DNA. Your textbook and/or review book covers the required chem knowledge. Seriously, the chem is a piece of cake. I’m a bio self-studier and I have’t even taken any chemistry at my high school.

Another place where chemistry will help a little be it understanding how enzymes work. After doing the rate of reaction/mechanisms section in chemistry, it helps to understand exactly how enzymes lower activation energy.
