Where does the 2000-2190 score range lie in?

Hello everyone, I noticed something peculiar…

I have always heard that scores from 1500-1990 can get you in average or good state schools; and scores from 2200-2400 will get you in top tier and ivy league schools. But the 2000-2190 range kinda gets lost in this, does it place you for average schools or top tier?

It doesn’t “place” you anywhere.

A 2000+ is a good score and is average or above average in many respectable universities. It may be a little weak for top schools (Ivies, Caltech, MIT, Stanford) but admissions at top schools is often determined by many other factors.

Similarly, 2200-2400 doesn’t “place” you into Ivies.

Schools ranking around 20 - 50 in us news.

Examples are UCs, USC, Tufts, BC, NYU, Tulane, etc.

This is based on their 25th to 75th percentile.
