Actually, first off, I was glorifying the ivy and bashing Stanford, so why would you say I’m jealous I can’t get into the ivy league?
Secondly, for your information, I can easily get into the Ivy league.
And thirdly, I got an 800 in the Korean test (even though I am Mexican American) and an 800 on the chemistry test. So, not only did I far surpass whatever you may have done, but I am not bitter.

Stanford Rocks!!! (But people definitely can get in with a 690 writing. It is one score out of many only a very, very small fraction of the app. But I still say Stanford Rocks!!!) Look at Stanford’s resources–the Stanford Linear Accelerator is one of the top science facilities in the world!!! It is absolutely unfair to say that Stanford is a “settling for anything school.” Today I asked people in my classes which school out of A) Harvard, B) Stanford, C) Princeton, D) Yale, E) Dartmouth, and F)Brown they would rather go to (I know I didn’t put all the Ivies). I had one more person say Stanford than Harvard. Yale came next, then Princeton, and one person said Dartmouth (Some people haven’t even heard of Dartmouth or Brown. I don’t know where they’ve been!). It just goes to show that people don’t put too much stock on the whole “Ivy” thing. I think the “Ivy” schools are great schools, but I still like Stanford better.
“So, not only did I far surpass whatever you may have done, but I am not bitter.”
I’m sorry, but you come across as the most arrogant person I have ever met. If the type of people at your glorified “Ivies” are as snobbish as you, then I am not sure if I even want to go to an “Ivy league” school at all.
I’m just defending myself from a mordant crowd.
Some people can be real jerks about my opinions of schools while expecting me to respect theirs.
Maybe it’s not that you don’t want the ivy, but that you can’t get in anyway.

PS: Your remark about people who don’t know about Brown and such: the only two schools I know to be world famous are Harvard and UCLA, to which even my illiterate grandparents can claim knowledge of. So it doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
Well, Tsunami, you can say whatever arrogant things you want, but I don’t have any more time after this post to argue with someone so immature that they have to bash other people under a thread that has nothing whatsoever to do with the topic you are arguing about. Gosh, if you had been like this in your admissions essays they would never have let you in! Someday, you are going to end up hated by a whole lot of people if you don’t get over yourself. Maybe someday you’ll grow up and learn that you are not the center of the world and that not everyone thinks you are the greatest person ever to walk the face of the Earth. Personally, I could care less what scores you got on your SATs or what college you are in. All I know is that you are very egotistical and I would rather hang out with a hick with 200 SAT than with you. So consider this my last post on the argument. Anyone who has anything positive and/or relating to this thread, feel free to post.
Lol, you all insulted me first, I just returned the favor. And it seems you have loads of time since you like to post so many mundane things and flagrant insults at someone who just thought Stanford wasn’t worth all the hype as a school.
And actually, I think you’re just a pretentious, jealous, and angry person, so to call me such things is quite an insult coming from you who doesn’t even know who I am. You should really watch what you say.
Ahh, one more thing - I’m not asking you to hang out with me, and I seriously doubt you would hang out with me even if I was a nice guy humble hick with an SAT score of 200. Also, I doubt everyone in the world will someday hate me, it’s much more feasible that everyone in the world will someday love me.
Funny, nobody from Virginia has posted here yet, and there are a lot of Virginians on this board!
My schools:
UVa
VA Tech
Purdue-already accepted
Rose-Hulman
Chicago
Univ. of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (for you, Tsunami. I don’t know how long you’ve lived in SoCA, but having lived my entire life in Virginia, with hurricanes and blizzards and sleet and… I’d like to be in the California sun)
Tsunami-i respect your beliefs about the colleges, but it is actually a bit rude to say that Stanford suxs. As said before, it is ranked above many of the ivies, and it actually is a VERY good school (relatives go there…that is all i know…). You may not like it, and you dont have to, but dont insult people who think it is a great school.
Also, you would have a better case if you had facts and figures to support your belief, but other people have shown that Stanford IS good, so please dont bash it w/o any evidence other than your opinions…
I’m from Washington. Applying to:
Cornell University
Carnegie Mellon University
Boston University
Northwestern
University of Washington
Washington State University
As I said, this is a very objective thing. And for the LAST TIME I didn’t insult anyone, people just took my opinions wrong and started insulting me. Haha, don’t let yourself get dragged around by it.
Tsunami, if you dont like Stanford thats fine. You dont have to like anything you dont want to. I personally dont like the east coast but I cannot deny the academic greatness those states can make claim to. The problem is that Stanford is in no way an Ivy League reject school. Stanford is a but a dream for many, many people. Stanford is arguably the greatest school in the United States. The only school that may be greater in the US is perhaps Harvard. I think Stanford is greater but it is debatable. The name Stanford commands a well deserved amount respect. You can continue to put it down all you want to but your words cannot change a thing.
On a personal note, good luck in your college search. As a fellow Mexican-American from the ghettos of LA who has himself succeeded in life, I hope you too can succeed.
