I am unsure whether to:
Apply to Harvard SCEA

or
Apply to Notre Dame, MIT, Northeastern, and U Chicago Early Action.

I want to do whichever increases my chances the most of getting into these colleges. The second scenario is appealing because I will have more results to factor into which colleges I apply to in regular decision. Harvard’s early acceptance rate is over 5 times higher than its regular decision acceptance rate though, and that’s very tempting. Any insight would be appreciated!

What are your stats?

That is the big choice many high stat students are agonizing over. Put it all in one school with the very small chance that becomes not so very small but still small, or spread the risk.

Honestly, for those kids who really have a shot at HPY, they will likely get into ND, UCh and the like (not MIT) or at least one of such schools. So the enhanced chance at HPY just might get them into that one shot school. The chances they will get in RD are more than very low, in fact, abysmal. The Early is what gives a bit of chance. My opinion only here.
