I’m not going to say go Ivy, cause I can’t say too much about how a 4.0 out of 4.5 will work for their admissions… But everything about your statistics just seems to scream ‘good school’. You’d seem to have a good chance anywhere you chose to apply.

Very cool. Thanks. I need some names though.

What kind of school do you want? If you could specify what size, geographic region, environment (as in suburban, urban, rural, or small town), and feeling (political, partying, preppy, etc.) you would like in a college, it would be easier to give some suggestions.

national art honor society?! dont you just have to pay 5 bucks to get into that?

Well preferably on the east coast, also I’d like a college thats not very small or rural, but I’d consider them. As of now, I’m pretty open to everything.
I wouldn’t wanna go somewhere very stuck up though. I tend to lean to the right in political thinking, but I expect that almost all colleges, especially on the east coast, lean to the left, fine by me.

Do you want academics to be important, or are you looking for a place to have a great social life (or both)? I personally like Wesleyan U (Connecticut) as a slightly larger east coast school, but I mostly know only the small LACs. There are about 2,700 undergrads at Wesleyan.

cornell seems to be a match for you. what are your AMC scores? did you reach the AIME round?

i dont remember how i did on AMC, but i didnt do well, needless to say, no AIME for me

ok then dont list ur AMCs

fair enough, it wont let me edit the original post though

1) How is a 4/4.5, ie what is your rank? I had a 3.8 in high school but at my school that was really strong.

I would say anyone even close to the right would hate Wesleyan, its militant PC. You might like Emory, WUSTL, Northwestern.

Well a 4.1/4.5 is equal to a 3.8/4, im not really sure how the conversion works so I’m gonna say in 3.6 or 3.7 out of 4. or I hear it may even be higher.

Sorry, I did not see that you lean to the right politically. You might really dislike Wesleyan, but you should not eliminate it right away.

I think basically the non HYPS Ivies are doable, I would say Penn, Dartmouth, Duke for reaches. Then Cornell, Northwestern for reach/ matches. Then WUSTL, Emory, maybe Rice, Vanderbilt, UVA for matches.
