<p>I was hoping someone would chance me based on my credentials.</p>

<p>From LGS Phase 5(Pakistan)</p>

<p>SAT I: 2060 (CR 680, Math 710, Writing 670)
SAT II World History+ Physics: <em>awaiting scores</em></p>

<p>CIE O Level grades: 7A<em>, 3A, 1B
A Level transcripts contain consistent As and the occasional A</em>
Top 5-10% in my class.</p>

<p>Common app essay: Excellent (based on feedback from my counselor, seniors etc). Based on debates, my strongest co curricular
Supplement: Bowdoin asked for an essay regarding connection to a place. I wrote about Lahore and drew parralells to Bowdoin.</p>

<p>Counselor rec: I haven’t seen it but I’ve heard he writes really good recommendations.
Teacher recs: One is from my O Levels English teacher and that’s excellent. The other is from my current Mathematics sir and that’s really good too.
Peer rec: My friend at Swarthmore College wrote a peer rec for me.</p>

<p>Co-curricular activities:

  1. Football (soccer) - Member of the school team, captain of the local football team,
  2. Debates/MUN - Member of the school’s English parliamentary debating team. Have reached a couple of tournament finals. Ranked in the top 10 speakers in some tournaments. Reached the semis of the nationals thrice. Won a Best Delegate award at a MUN as well.
  3. Community Work - Member of a registered NGO that was founded by my friend, named Talaash. Have helped flood survivors and school children below the poverty line.Assist a local NGO, AABROO which works for povert alleviation through recycling efforts.
  4. Paid Internship (for a month)
  5. Debates President for the academic year 2014-2015
  6. Acted in the Annual Play of my school back in 10th grade and in a commercial play later on.
  7. Member of the school’s magazine society/ magazine editor
  8. Former member of the school’s table tennis team
  9. Gold Medalist at the All Pakistan General Knowledge quiz at Aitchison College.
  10. Member of the School Basketball team.
  11. Founded the Adventure Society at my school which organises trips yearly.</p>

<p>Being an international student, I will ask for a huge amount of aid.</p>

<p>Your matriculation will be more difficult than you imagine, so have a non-US backup plan.</p>

<p>There are very few schools that offer aid to international students, and only six that say they will meet 100% of need. You don’t have the stats to get into one of those six. The schools can be found among these three websites:</p>

<p>This information is over a year old, so there might be changes. You’ll have to go thru these webpages picking out schools you have a chance of getting into (that would not include the ivies, probably) and then trying to figure out whether those schools will offer you enough money for you to be able to afford them. Not an easy task but it’s all you can do.</p>
