What part of the country are you interested in going to school in? Also, do you have a major and size of school in mind?
Im interested in going to a big school, nothing less than 15,000. I also wanna try staying in the northeastern portion of the United States, As far major, I don’t, possibly psychology.
For a starting point, I would look into some state flagships in the Northeast. With similar stats I applied and was accepted to University of Maryland- College Park, University of Connecticut, University of Delaware Honors College, Penn State, and a little further west was University of Wisconsin- Madison. What state are you from? Maybe look into your in state schools?
I am from PA, and yea I most likely to Penn state, villanova, temply, and etc. However, besides state schools are there any reach schools, I should look at?
NYU and Northeastern are bigger privates that have >15K population. Both are on the reachy side of things but within distance.
Yes! I wasn’t sure whether or not you wanted private or public schools. Some schools that I can think of off of the top of my head are Boston College, Northeastern University, Boston University, and Lehigh University (which is a bit smaller than you wanted but still a great school). Also, if you’re willing to go further south, Tulane University and University of Miami are great options. Do you want a school that puts a lot of emphasis on sports?
I’ve committed to Northeastern and I highly recommend looking into it. Such a great school with so many amazing career opportunities!
Yes, I would love a school that has a lot of spirit. And yes I am willing to look south, I was looking at Washington university in St. Louis the other day.
Have you talked to your parents about finances? Will you qualify for financial aid? If not, will your parents be able to pay the full cost of any school you get into?
Another great school to consider, however it would be a bit of a reach, is Emory University in Atlanta, GA. It seems to fit all of your criteria. Also Clemson would be a great one to look into as a match. If you are very interested in spirit, you can’t go wrong with a big public university. Schools like UMD and University of Wisconsin are top notch and also very spirited and large.
