Where should I apply?

Hi. I’m an international student interested in studying engineering (major) and arts (minor). Any recommendations of where should I apply? Thanks!

How much can you pay/year for college?
What are your test scores, GPA, extra curricular activities, awards?
Geographic preference?

City or Rural?
What type of Engineering?

Yes, some idea of how much you are looking to pay/are able to pay is essential, especially for international students. Some idea of your stats and grades would be helpful. Some engineering schools are very large state universities (more than 30,000 undergrad students). Some are relatively small, under 5000 undergrads. Any strong preference for weather (very cold or warm)? Urban or rural? For example, Texas A&M is a terrific engineering school with more than 40,000 undergrads. It’s in a college town with very warm weather. Clarkson University is also a terrific engineering school in a very small town (also home to SUNY Potsdam) close to the Canadian border, so very, very cold. Santa Clara University has a strong engineering program. It’s in a suburban area in Silicon Valley, outside San Francisco. It’s about 5000 students and has amazing weather all year round.

Having some parameters will help you get great advice about schools that work best for you, and are affordable.
