Where should I apply ?

I’ve applied EA to MiT, u Chicago, Notre dame, u of michigan and Case western reserve.

I also applied to Cornell as my 1st choice ED.

I was wondering, if there are any other schools I should be applying to under RA, in the event that I am deferred/rejected from cornell.

To give you an idea of what schools I have a reasonable chance of being admitted to, here’s a brief academic overview

sat -
reading - 740
writing - 630
math - 750
ACT-32
subject tests-
chemistry 700
math level 2 - 770
GPA = 4 unweighted
class rank = first out of about 120

I was just figuring that Cornell decisions will be coming out just a few days before Christmas break, and I don’t want to be scrambling for recs two days before school lets out, so I thought it best to figure out what I’m doing for RA now.

Any ideas on where I should apply based on those stats?

Well, I wouldn’t say that you need any more schools. Your stats are really good. If nothing else, you’ll be in at Case for sure, and probably Michigan too. But even aside from the safeties, you have a really good chance at the others as well (especially Notre Dame).

But if you want to add a few more…my friend (who’s in love with Cornell) also loves UNC Chapel Hill, which could be a good match(?) for you. I think she’s also applying to UVM, Syracuse, and Emory.

if you apply EA, do u have until May to decide?

^Yes. The only time you don’t is if you apply ED and get accepted.
