Where should I be looking?

I am a junior. I had a 87 avg in freshman/sophomore years. I have started this year with a 94.5 avg in first quarter. Just took SAT - CR 590, M 660, W 690, Total 1940. I am a state ranked long jumper, went to state championships as sophomore. Finances are not an issue. I am in Suburban NY. I have lots of great community service during my past three summers. Not sure about major, but good math skills and thinking of engineering. Am thinking I would like a large state school, but truly open to anything. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

It’s possible you could parlay that long jump ability into admission into a pretty selective Div III school with those test scores. Grades might be a bit iffy, but if you catch the right coach’s eye, it might help you get in. Wouldn’t hurt to find a school you might be interested in and contact the coaching staff to see how interested they would be.

Buffalo State maybe?

Some suggestions for you are University at Buffalo, UMass Amherst, RIT, Stony Brook University, SUNY New Paltz, Syracuse University, UMass Lowell, WPI, and University of Hartford
