<p>Hey all - junior here. New user, longtime lurker. Very many of these threads are depressing, but I thought I’d give this a shot just to see where I stand. Until recently I have felt very confident in my college eligibility (like, HYPS level) and have sort of been ignoring less selective colleges with the idea that I wouldn’t need to concern myself with them. I realize this is pretty foolish and have decided to face reality and look at legitimate options.</p>
<p>I am aware of how the forum views chance me threads made by juniors, let alone juniors who have not yet taken the SAT. I have decided to post anyway. My main question is: where should I rank myself in the applicant pool? What SAT/ACT score would I need to be competitive? Do I have any chances at all at a top-tier university, or am I just fooling myself?</p>
<p>The schools I have been looking at the most are: Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Brown, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, UC Berkley. Just to give you an idea of how I have been viewing myself.</p>

SAT/ACT: I plan to take the SAT in January and then in June. I plan to take the SAT II for Biology and Math 2 at the end of the school year. ACT will be… eventually.
Residence: Southern CA
Race: Latino (I am a 2nd generation Brazilian. Both my parents attended university in Brazil, the first in their families.)
School rigor: My school does not offer APs. We have a dual enrollment program, and in senior year I will be taking Calculus, English, Government, and Economics as college classes. School is a new (this is our 5th year) charter school in a low-income area. About 540 kids total.
Other: I am definitely going to study a STEM field. Leaning towards Biology, Neuroscience, or Mathematics. Also, I am female. If that means anything. And I’m a really good writer with great English teachers/mentors, so I’m not too worried about my essays.</p>

- FIRST Robotics Competition (Sep. 2012 present) Intense robotics club, about 300 hours dedicated in the past season alone.
