Right now i’m trying to pick between going to Loyola University New Orleans for my undergrad or University of South Alabama. Both have great business programs but both have advantages and disadvantages. For starters, Loyola offers smaller classes, professors with tons of experience and are currently active in their fields and the ability to intern in really great positions. Unfortunately it will cost me around 16k a year after scholarship to attend. On the other hand South Alabama is a relatively cheap state school that has a great BA program. I’m not to sure about the internships they offer, though. I’m also worried about if South Alabama will affect my ability to get into a good grad school later on despite good grades, GRE, LSAT, etc…

I don’t know anything about both business programs but if the schools are on par, i’d say go for the cheaper, in state school. While South Alabama, based on what you said, may have a disadvantage in giving you internships, if you get the grades and have the work ethic, than you should be able to go out and get interviews and land a job. Because I’ve never heard of both business schools and they’re not on b-week i’d say both schools are about the same in reputation, so pick the cheaper one. Save your money for grad school.

Also, LSAT and GRE are not required for an MBA…just GMAT. Unless you’re talking about pursuing a different graduate degree.

Do these universities have career services? You need to find out what jobs students get out of these universities and what avg starting salary these two schools have?

Your undergrad choice would not affect getting into an MBA program but would affect the opportunities you have (which will affect getting into an MBA program). I can’t speak of other programs though (law, etc)
