Where should I go?

I’m an international student and has been admitted to RISD, Rice, Syracuse, Pratt, Tulane and other schools that have good architectural reputation. Basically, I plan to choose a school from RISD, Rice, and Syracuse…

I asked someone from Rice Arch, but that student suggest me go to RISD because he thinks Rice is not a good place to study architecture, but he didn’t give me a specific reason… therefore now I think RISD might be a good place, but I’m worrying that RISD may be so hard that I, who is not very talented in art, probably can’t survive… Does anyone know about RISD? Is it really hard? To be honest, I think I got into RISD is just because of luck…

Any suggestion about where I should go?

Aren’t all architecture programs hard…?

Regardless, what are your reasons for choosing RISD over these other schools? What are your interests? Is location important to you?

I know all architecture programs are hard… What I asked was if the art class is really hard in RISD… I just afraid I can’t draw as good as other RISD students…

I choose RISD over other schools is because it’s location. Providence is near Boston and New York, where I can visit many museums, and RISD also has a very impressive museum…

As for my interests, I like to study in cities more than in countryside. Rice is also in a big city, so does Syracuse. Besides, all these three schools have very good architectural reputations. My friends who are now studying architecture in US suggest me choose from these three schools. I know other schools all have excellent architectural programs, but I have some personal reasons that make me don’t want to go there…

Thank you for replying! Haha~

Syracuse isn’t as big as you think it is haha… its program is top-notch though.

I suggest you go to Pratt if you want to go to a big city - Can’t go wrong with NYC.

RISD has a foundation year where you focus on art only… so if you dont think you can keep up, keep that in mind.
