I am a student at a mid-tier university. Right now, I am a college sophomore with a 3.2 GPA. I had a 3.27 GPA in high school. My SAT superscore is a 2090 (1330 without the writing section). Despite my grades and scores, I have interned for Members of Congress in their state and D.C. offices and even spent the summer working at a federal agency with close ties to labor issues. I know that these may not be much, but I have done my best to demonstrate my dedication to the labor movement through organizations on- and off-campus, and can display this in my supplemental essays. A close professor has offered to write a recommendation on my behalf.
I like my university, but I feel as though the environment is not conducive to my learning and personal growth. Therefore, I am looking to transfer. At this point, I am looking to see the highest ranking institutions that I could reasonably apply, then looking at schools in that range to consider (I understand the flaws in this form of choosing an institution, but I’m really just looking for a place to start my search).
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
