Where should I spend the next 4 years??

All the colleges I applied to have gotten back to me and now I’m left with the decision of where to go. I intend to major in agriculture got accepted to UC Davis, UW Madison and Cal Poly SLO with Ag majors and UCSB with environmental studies (live in CA so I have in-state tuition). I got waitlisted at Colgate University, which was a top choice based on the campus and academic quality. Also waitlisted at Berkeley and Boston College.

The real kicker, though, is that I received a guaranteed transfer at Cornell. UC Davis is the #1 ag school in the world AND I would get in-state tuition but Cornell is… well Cornell. The transfer requires me to attend a university with at least a 3.0 GPA as well as certain class requirements. Should I even consider UW and SLO? Is it worth it to go on the Colgate waitlist even if it doesn’t have my major? WHAT DO I DO???

UC Davis all the way. Highest ranking, better weather, in-state tuition, closer to home, etcetera.

Could you start at UC Davis and later transfer to Cornell? This way you can start at a top school, and if you decide it’s worth it, transfer to an even better one. If you decide not to, no big deal, you’re still at UC Davis which has excellent academics and opportunities, particularly in the fields you’re interested in. I wouldn’t go to UW Madison if you got into SLO and Davis.
