I’m stuck halfway across the world, unable to graduate until the next 2-3 years, taking a major that I have no idea why I chose it in the first place (unable to switch because it’s gonna waste more time and money), while my ex is going to get married to another guy. My salary barely covers my rent so I have to keep asking my parents for money every month and going back home is just shameful.
Forget “shameful.” The fact that your parents keep giving you money seems to indicate that they’re supportive of you. So consider cutting your losses, transferring to a school close to home, and re-establishing ties with the people who love you.
My sympathies on the situation with your ex-- it must be very painful. But I’ve got to believe that things happen for a reason-- that, for whatever the reason, you two weren’t right for each other.
So have a pity party–I’m a big fan of Ice Cream Therapy. And make the hard decisions about where you want to be and how to get there.
Why did you go to the school accross the world? Where have to have been reasons - are those till valid? Do you still like your school? Does your major lead to good prospects?
What makes transfer so difficult?
Are you an international student in the US, or are you an American studying in another country?
